10th Anniversary of ’The Hungarian Labour Market Yearbook’ – Presentation

BI partner and IE/HAS researcher Zsombor Cseres-Gergely gave a presentation at the conference of the Committe of Labour Economics (Hungarian Academic of Science) organized for the 10th Anniversary of The Hungarian Labour Market Yearbook.
The presentation was inspired by the volume’s introductory essay, discussing the events from summer 2008 to spring 2009 involving the first impacts of the economic crisis and the government reactions given. The speaker, in spite of the increased interest of press, emphasised that today we are not yet in the position to make statements on scientific grounds about the impacts of the downturn or the efficiency of government interventions. This question might be answered by the forthcoming issue of ’The Hungarian Labour Market - Review and Analysis 2010’ as the whole volume will deal with the effects of the economic crisis.
