Social Welfare and Budgetary Procedure

Balázs Váradi was one of the two economists invited by the editors of BeszélÅ‘ on the waves of the popular Hungarian radio station Klubrádió on 09/10/18.

In the first part of the one hour long Hungarian language programme the two guests, László Jankovics of the Budget Council and Budapest Institute’s Balázs Váradi agreed that the 2008 Act establishing the Budget Council may improve the discipline of the parliamentary process leading up to passing the yearly budget.

The first step towards improving policies should be to make detailed, reliable, yearly performance data  available about the state institutions to be improved, stressed  Balázs Váradi in the second segment.
